Isabel Healthcare and the NIWH Announce their Partnership for an Upcoming Pilot Study Using the Isabel Knowledge Organizing and Diagnostic Support Tool

Partnership applies the Isabel Knowledge Organizer and Diagnostic Support Tools to NIWH Pilot Study on Unsolved, Chronic Medical Cases

Ann Arbor, MI and Wellesley, MA, April 15, 2015 — Isabel Healthcare and the National Institute of Whole Health have jointly announced a partnership focused on providing knowledge, organizing, and diagnostic support tools for credentialed health professionals addressing unsolved, chronic medical case studies. The study will be conducted with NIWH-trained patient health educators, utilizing the Knowledge Organizer and diagnostic support tools developed by Isabel Healthcare. The population will be unresolved, acute, and chronic patient case studies, provided through CrowdMed.com, a crowd-sourced case management online platform. The pilot begins on May 1, 2015.

There is a significant underserved population of Americans who have not received a solution to their health condition or concerns. Many are now seeking help through diagnostic support tools such as those developed by Isabel Healthcare, and through open-sourced, collaborative feedback that is available through CrowdMed.com.

Combining both of these resources, as well as adding credentialed patient health educators who are also trained as health detectives, the study seeks to improve outcomes for the undiagnosed or incorrectly diagnosed patient who often has no other avenues to pursue.

“We are delighted to be partnering with NIWH on this project and potentially assisting patients getting answers they desperately seek,” said Don Bauman, chief executive officer of Isabel Healthcare. “The partnership represents an innovative approach and alternative to assisting in these unresolved cases.”

Dr. Georgianna Donadio, Program Director of NIWH, states, “NIWH is delighted to be partnering with Isabel Healthcare on our upcoming pilot study. The study will showcase Isabel’s groundbreaking applications and technology, as well as NIWH’s post-professional patient health education and health detective trainings. Isabel’s innovative leadership in producing diagnostic and knowledge organization technology is much needed and very impressive!”
