Celebrating 50 Years of
Whole Health Development and Research
Dr. Georgianna Donadio is the founding researcher and pioneer of the Whole Health and Whole Person Care movements in the United States. Since its inception in 1977, NIWH has championed a vision of U.S. healthcare that empowers individuals with clear, de-mystified health information, promoting self-care and the knowledge necessary for disease prevention.
At NIWH, we believe whole-person health should be within everyone’s reach. That’s why we developed Whole Health Education® —an approach that addresses health from a 5 Aspects of Whole Health® perspective, which integrates physical, emotional, nutritional, environmental, and spiritual aspects to foster personalized care and improved outcomes.
Our web-based programs for individuals, caregivers, and healthcare professionals deliver practical, evidence-based training. Whether you’re supporting others or focusing on your own well-being, NIWH’s Whole Health Education programs equip you with essential skills to achieve lasting, whole-person health.
On the 50 year anniversary of when we developed Whole Health is upon us! Starting in February of 2026 NIWH will provide free monthly Zoom seminars on a wide range of Whole Health topics and health concerns. If you would like a
seminar schedule or more information on how to participate.
In 1976 our founder developed and researched the model of Whole Health. The vision then was to provide individuals the knowledge necessary to deeply understand the causes and effects of illnesses and what they could do to help
heal their condition.
Many organizations have adopted out model and offer it as an Integrated Health model. The vision NIWH holds today is to provide critical health information to all individuals who may wish to be professionally trained and credentialed to
educate and serve their client’s health journey (2) for those who serve as family & friends health advocates and (3) for anyone seeking to heal and have greater knowledge and understanding on how do so.
