The National Institute of Whole Health has hired physician executive and Hospitalist, Paul Bergeron, MD, CPE, to facilitate and execute pilots for their Whole Health Education programs.
Paul BergeronNovember 18, 2010, Wellesley, MA – The National Institute of Whole Health (http://www.niwh.org), pioneers of the first patient education and health coaching model developed and utilized in clinical settings, today announced the hiring of Paul Bergeron, MD, CPE to the newly created position of Director of Pilot Programs. In this capacity, Bergeron will work with healthcare institutions nationwide to facilitate and execute pilots for the National Institute of Whole Health’s (NIWH) Whole Health Education programs.

Bergeron is a physician executive and Hospitalist with more than 22 years of experience leading healthcare organizations. His diverse professional background has included practicing medicine in hospitals, nursing homes and outpatient, ambulatory settings, as well as holding multiple executive management positions.
In addition to being a member of the NIWH management team, Bergeron is a Hospitalist at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, a Dartmouth Hitchcock Affiliate hospital and manages Skilled Medical Provider Group PLLC, a provider group that manages skilled nursing facilities. His background includes being the Vice President of Clinical Business Development for Diabetes America, founding MDLearn, a physician education company, Medical Director for Sunbridge Nursing Home and HealthBanks, as well as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for 3M Health Care.
A firm believer in patient empowerment and advocacy, his diverse background includes creating a non-profit program that provides free medication to indigent patients in the Seacoast region of NH, serving on both Medical Society and Quality Improvement Organization and consulting on network development projects including affiliations between hospital providers, physician administration relationships, performance improvement in clinical care and the financial performance of medical groups, hospitals and healthcare systems.
Dr. Bergeron is also a four time published author on cardiac issues and rheumatoid arthritis and was an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School, an Ivy League medical school and the fourth oldest in the United States.
He is a Certified Physician Executive who received his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Stanford University Hospital. He lives in Durham, NH.
