Overview
Established in 1977, The National Institute of Whole Health (NIWH) offers a Track B certificate program for
nurses that is unlike any holistic health program offered today.
This program combines the principles of a holistic nurse education with evidence-based medical science. It is open to qualified applicants from all areas of the nursing profession, requiring a certificate of nursing training or licensure.
Currently, disease prevention and patient health education is one of the most important and upcoming areas of health care focus.

Geared to the practice of Whole Person Care, this program redefines holistic health care by integrating the most current medical research with a natural outlook on healing and the holistic health wisdom of ancient spiritual teachings.
The Track B program provides an in-depth presentation of the
whole picture of health®, which includes the physical, emotional,
nutritional, environmental and spiritual aspects of our lives, and their
impact on our health.
This program offers a model of relationship-centered,
patient education, which has been identified in 1997 as a Best Practice in a two-year, Harvard affiliate
hospital Pilot Trial Study.

This Track B program offers you skills and knowledge to transform your
work experience and enhance patient care and healing through the application of mindful presence, respectful listening and relationship-centered
patient care.
This approach to care relies heavily on the holistic nurse-patient relationship, inviting patients into the center of
their healing and wellness. This model of patient
education demystifies the cause and effect of
chronic disease.
By offering a different perspective on the cause and effect of disease process, patients experience greater control and understanding of their health issues.
The Whole Health Educator program for Nurses is ideal for
the nurse professional who desires to offer more than symptom-oriented,
treatment oriented care. The program courses are approved
for nursing continuing education credits.
The curriculum has been reviewed
and endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association, is endorsed and distributed by Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society for Nursing, Nursing Knowledge International and is approved by VSNA, which is an accredited
approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing
Center - Commission on Accreditation.
As an alternative to traditional testing, students are required to complete
- Complete a minimum of a 1000 word assignment, summarizing each media course viewed
- Complete a self-directed externship and 100 page Final Paper for graduation
Available to all Track B students and graduates:
- Student Services Department - NIWH provides all aspects of student support, Academic Advisors to assist each student with course essay assignments, a toll free call-in line and more.
- All NIWH graduates are accepted as Select Providers, in Healthways, Inc., the country's largest national insurance provider network, for Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Humana and other insurance programs.
- Job Boards - free registration on ten (10) outstanding local and national job boards - traditional Medical and Integrative Whole Health positions
- Whole Health Networking is available through an NIWH affiliate consultant who provides resume crafting and professional networking with Medical and Integrative Health Practices at a discounted fee for NIWH students and graduates
- Dual and Multi-discipline programs available. After graduating from a Whole Health program an NIWH graduate may dual or multi train in the following areas: Nutrition Educator, Health Education or Health Coaching by taking select required courses, with special tuition savings.
- Patient Education Billing & Coding Tutorials - on line and free to physicians, medical practices and clinics which employ or utilize NIWH graduates
- Professional Malpractice Insurance through the world's largest organization representing qualified and credentialed educators and counselors
- Whole Health Re-Certification - Updated and new Continuing Education Programs, CEUs and certificates at special savings
- Ambassador Program - students and graduates earn gifts as Program Ambassadors
- Holistic Nurse Certification - qualified nursing professionals may utilize their NIWH training to sit for the national Holistic Nurses Certification thru the AHNA corporation.
